kerman province with the area of 181, 714 sq. km and the population of 2652413, is bounded by the provinces of Sistan & Baluchestan on the west, Yazd on the north, and Khorasan on the northeast. It includes the southern part of the central Iranian desert, Dasht-e Lut.

The city`s many districts are surrounded by mountains and the northern part of the city is located in an arid desert area, while the highland of the southern part of the city enjoys a more moderate climate. The mean elevation of the city is about 1755 m above sea level.The main townships of Kerman province are: Baft, Bardsir, Bam, Jiroft, Rafsanjan, Zarand, Sirjan, Shahr-e-Babak, Kerman, Mahan and Kohnoj.

The Halil-Rud river is the only and the most important river of the Province. The upland regions produce cereals, cotton, sugar beets, oilseeds, fruit, and vegetables. Kerman is a famous city for its long history and strong cultural heritage. The city is home to many historic mosques genders, houses, restaurants, and Zoroastrian fire temples. Some unique monuments are: Jame' Maqoue, the maiden Castle (Qal'e Dokhtar), Ganj Ali Khan Museum, Fathabad Garden (Biglar Beigi Building) and Tomb of Khajeh Atabak.Here you can see lots of handicrafts like traditional embroidery known as Pateh, carpets, fretwork on wood, Jajeems(loosely woven cloth), and decorative copper knives.It is important to mention that Kerman exports a large percentage of the world’s pistachios which is the best souvenir of Kerman
